Exploring Stourbridge High Street Independent Stores: A Photographic Journey

On the 13th of July 2024, I walked Stourbridge High Street and Lower High Streets, and some of the side streets, in the search for interesting independent shop windows. Over the last two to three years, independent shops have opened. Although they can’t compete with national brands which are occupying the best locations, these independent business owners are offering a more interesting and unique opportunities to dress, eat, entertain yourself in a more fulfilling way.

During my walk, I was pleased to found Coffee Stain Vintage store on 15 Lower High Street and treated myself with a nice vintage shirt!

Enjoy this selection of shop windows and buildings that are enriching our visits to Stourbridge town centre.

All photographies were shot by me on my Canon EOS R6 II with a RF 14-35 f4 zoom lens.

As most towns in the UK, the centre displays a mix of building styles, red bricks, half-timbered and brutalist concrete. I found this contrast fascinating.
